What is Counselling?

Counselling is a great way to explore your feelings and thoughts, this could be around a number of issues that are presenting in your life, or not aware of or finding difficult to face. Issues may arise from Anxiety, Stress, Trauma, Abuse, Confidence/Body issues, Bereavement, School, Exam pressures, Family issues, Depression and many more. Counselling can help enable better ways of coping and look at bringing change to your life by being heard in a safe, non judgemental space, thats cares about you and your wellbeing.

What happens in a session?

Sessions can be different for each individual depending on the material, however within our sessions we will build a therapeutic relationship in a safe, holding space.

The length of therapy may vary depending on what you bring.

Some people have specific areas they would like to focus on and others would like to explore themselves deeper, making it hard to determine when therapy should finish, so a time is never set, allowing you to decide as and when you would like to end.

Appointments

I always recommend an initial assessment session, which will be for us to meet, discuss history and what it is you might be looking for from the sessions, allowing you to see and feel if we would be a good fit. Sessions are 50 minutes long and can be booked in bulk if easier.

Sessions can be either face to face or online. Online sessions are through the platform Zoom and a secure link and password are sent on the day of your session. In person sessions will take place at Loudwater House, London Road, High Wycombe.
