Hypnotherapy 

What is Hypnotherapy? 

So what is hypnotherapy and how can it help you, well hypnotherapy is nothing that we don't already do, it is the use of trance that helps take you into deep relaxation. Trance may bring up thoughts of performing like a chicken or being out of control but it is the complete opposite, you are always in control. In fact we enter a state of trance more often than you realise, when we are in deep focus with something, like work or a project, or watching tv. It is a mind state and using trance can help make the changes you need to move forward with your life, when you are in a more relaxed mind state you can make clearer and better decisions, taking back control, which is the aim of hypnotherapy.

What can Hypnotherapy help with?

Hypnotherapy is an amazing modality that can help support change, using the power of trance, visualisation and understanding how the mind actually works. Hypnotherapy works well for phobias that have taken up space in your life, perhaps even holding you back from living your life fully. You maybe looking to give up smoking or vaping, or something else that is effecting you, even helping with stress and aiding relaxation to name but as few of its benefits.

So what's the Solution Focused part? 

With solution focused therapy, we focus on moving forward, we don't need to delve into the past but work with the now and what helps you move that little step forward that soon turns into huge steps and before you know it you are able to make decisions from that calm, rational part of your mind. Taking back that control, sometimes we just need that little bit of help to get us on the right track.

What happens in a session? 

It can really vary on what it is you are bringing to work on, the great thing with hypnotherapy is we can work quite quickly, usually between 10 to 12 sessions, sometimes less. â€‹

However all sessions start the same, being greeted into a calm, relaxed, safe space where we can check in and go from there, even if sessions are online. We go at your own pace, which is why it is always difficult to put a specific time frame on our work together.

What we will always make time for in the session, is time for trance, time to rest back and allow yourself to drop into deep relaxation which is pivotal to our work together. Towards the end of the session you will be guided out of trance and grounded ready to step into the rest of your day. 

What happens if I decide to book a session?  

Well we will start with arranging a short intro call, either on the phone or via zoom, that way we can discuss what support you are looking for. It is also a great time for me to discuss how we will work together and a perfect opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have. Then we can pop a date in the diary for your first session, i can send you some forms to fill in and have a read over along with a MP3 relaxation recording that I will ask you to use prior to our work starting. Then take it from there. Easy. 

Appointments 

I always recommend an initial introduction call usually around 15 to 30 minutes for us to discuss what support you are looking for and I can explain how we will work together along with answering any questions you may have.

The sessions themselves will be an hour long and â€‹can either be face to face or online.

Online sessions are through the platform Zoom and a secure link and password are sent on the day of your session. In person sessions will take place at Loudwater House, London Road, High Wycombe.
